Live Oak Camp

Nestled in pristine wilderness between the San Raphael and Santa Ynez Mountains, lie 40 undeveloped acres that were once a campsite for cowboys and can now be rented for large events. Wildflowers bloom year-round, and the only sounds are the rippling river, the rustle of black-tailed deer, the call of osprey and hawk.

Group Camping
Live Oak Camp accommodates 1,500 campers in "open" site fashion, and an additional 2,000 non-camping patrons on a daily basis. Group camp rates: 4/1- 9/30 @ $1500; 2-night miminum; additional night @ $750.  10/1 - 3/31 @ $1000; 2-night minimum; additional night @ $500.

Special Events (Large Groups Only)
Commercial events open to the public and/or charging admission pay $3,500/day, and add $1.50 facility fee to their event ticket price.

Private parties and qualifying non-profits pay $750/day (2 day minimum) from 4/1 to 9/14, and $500/day (2 day minimum) from 9/15 to 3/31.

County Courthouse Sunken Gardens

This historic 1929 Spanish-Moorish structure is one of the most beautiful buildings in the U.S. Its meticulously maintained gardens and spacious lawns have become a popular site for special events.

A special use permit is required for events wishing to use the County Courthouse Mural Room, portico or sunken gardens. No reservations are taken for weddings.

Special events sponsored by non-profit organizations, and other low-impact special uses at the Courthouse Sunken Gardens and in parks open spaces pay $500/day base rent, which may vary depending on the use and duration of the event.

Events sponsored by commercial organizations for which an entry fee may be charged, and which exclude or severely restrict public use of the gardens or other park facilities, are charged $4,500/day. This may vary depending on the use and duration of the event.

All special uses pay a non-refundable $25 reservation fee, and are subject to reimbursables, e.g., site clean-up and security. Amplified musical entertainment is generally not permitted.
